Road Hog (Warmachine/Hordes)
The Road Hog:
The Road Hog was a really fun model to build up and paint. The Farrow have a lot of cool and wacky characters and sculpts and remind me a little bit of Orkz from 40k.

The Road Hog is a re-animated (or at least had some major surgery) pig man with an iron man heart:
While painting this model, I wanted to balance the pink flesh tones of a pig, with the irritated flesh from the wounds/surgeries that the Road Hog has undergone. I built up the area around the wounds using thin layers of red wash, getting close and closer to the wound with each layer.
The road hogs furnace in the back for his flamer hand needed to be on fire and was done with a red - orange - yellow - white fade before painting the grate on top. I also thought it would be cool to paint the gas tank powering the furnace like a re-purposed fire extinguisher.
Since the army consists of mutant looking pig-men, I thought it would be cool make the low points of the Secret Weapon bases look like that had some radio active goo in the mud. I used a gloss coat on the base to give it a liquid/mud feel instead of just dirt, and tried to do some glow effects on the loin cloth and legs coming off of the radioactive goo!
