Mazdamundi (AoS)

Mazdamundi (AoS):

Well this was quite a project: I estimate it was a week or two building, two or three weeks painting, and another week for the base. But Its probably the project I'm the most proud of so far. Even though he is dead in the lore of AoS, he lives on in my heart and my lizardmen army as the centerpiece model.

"Mazdamundi, Lord of the Solor-City is the oldest and most powerful of the living Slann Mage-Priests and the current ruler of Hexoatl, the City of the Sun"

He has a barrel of grubs ready to be consumed from his throne.
"Mazdamundi always carries with him a gourd containing a handful of dried Itxl Grubs. These are very potent magical grubs which absorb raw magical power from the ground. When tha Mage-Lord eats the grubs, he gains the magical energy contained within them. He has to eat the whole gourd-full of grubs to gain a significant effect on his own magical powers"

I gave him a Magmadroth instead of a Stegadon, as I thought it was visually interesting but still in fit with lizardmen. I mean what's the difference between a really big lizzard and a dragon anyways!

This conversion used a lot of bits from a lot of models, but used part of the throne from the origional Magmadroth throne, a whole Slann with chair, banner pieces from Lizardmen Calvary and shields from Saurus Guard, the barrel came from an Ogre Stonehorne box, etc.

The base itself was an undertaking, and was sculpted out of green stuff, and used parts of another GW AoS basing kit and parts of the vines for the vine kit. I also utilized the vines to be what is lashing the throne to the back of the Magmadroth.

I cut out the little Lizardment head symbols from the Lizardmen drums to cover up the Dwarf runes that were embedded in the Magmadroth's spine.

This was also my first time using resin water effects, and was done in two pours, and sanded smooth around the sides of the base.

I also included some reindeer moss inside of the resin as well.
